Martha,
You are right. Susan Ella Phillips was married to Samuel F.
Phillips. He was the son of Richard Phillips of Greene County near
Edwards Bridge. He was married to Nancy Edwards. I have not been able
to find their parents.Their children were William, Jesse, Joseph and
Samuel. I have not gone back into my records to look but believe
Richard is connected to Barney and Reuben Phillips. Maybe you can help
me on that connection
Jane.

Martha.
You have most of the information that I have. A number of years ago
I went to the grave of Richard L. Phillips. The dates on his tombstone
are: Born March 23, 1826 and Died December 2, 1880.
I have a copy of Soldier's Application For Pension on a Richard
Phillips that was in Company K 33rd Regiment NC Troops. The application
is dated June 8, 1901. Gives his age as 60 years. He is listed as a
resident of LaGrange Post Office. This Richard was much to young to
have been Richard L. Phillips. I also have a copy of his widows
application dated June 5, 1909. Her was Eliza Phillips.
