Migrations
OHIO
The Migration Project is compiled information from members of the Dobbs, Greene, and Lenoir County ROOTS L Lists.
Preble County

With reference to migrations from Old Dobbs, our Bogue family (Quakers) had many members who went to Preble County, Ohio and thence to Indiana and so on. They were out of the Contentnea Monthly Meeting of Quakers. I believe this migration around 1839 and later was due to the Quakers not wanting tobe in slave-holding states. So my husband's GGGrandfather served in the confederate forces and his first cousin (from Indiana)served in the USArmy during the "late unpleasantness".

There were other families from Wayne Co who went to Ohio at about the sametime as the Bogues.
