ADAMS/GOODEN - Wm Adams and Mary Gooden Adams grew up in Dobbs Co., 1760-1770's moved to Jones Co., NC until the late 1790 or early 1800 then to Davidson Co., TN, then 1830 to Iron Co., MO

DILLAHUNTY - A Thomas Dillahunty died in 1828 in Davidson Co. TN (wife Sarah Becton) and father said to be Rev. John Dillahunty(? I think)

MITCHELL - HARDY MITCHELL, b. about 1765 in Dobbs Co, NC. He married Barbara LNU and was living in neighboring Jones Co., NC between 1791 and 1996, as shown by his involvement in some land transactions, as a grantor, grantee and a witness. They moved and settled in middle TN, Davidson Co. about 1798 or 1799.

In middle TN (Davidson Co and Williamson Co) Hardy's four sons married into the ARMSTRONG, WILLIAMS, DAVIS, AND PRICHARD families. Other possible allied families could be: TALIAFERRO, BEARD, PARMALEE, HARDY, LEWIS, POINDEXTER. Perhaps some of these families originated in Dobbs and neighboring counties, and migrated together to middle TN at about the same time. Hopefully, some link-ups can be made.

HANKS /GATLIN/ROACH - I just recently found out that Joshua Hanks sister Nancy married Bryan Roach. The Roach family was also from Wayne Co. moved with them into TN. Nancy and Bryan married in Davidson CO. TN and then they were found living near my Hanks family in Hopkins CO. KY.. Bryan's parents were Wm. Roach and Bridget Bryan according to my source, Don Crader. We are stumped with 2 Lazarus Gatlin's in the area at the same time. We don't know which is hers and which is mine. Mine went to Davidson CO.TN same as the Hanks. John Hanks moved into the Dobbs Co area and dc 1793 - had a son Mott whose son Nathan md Elizabeth Hood and moved to Pickens Co, Ala; John Hanks II died in Hopkins or Christian Co, Ky and some of his children stayed in Ky and some went into Illinois;
