This is a picture I came across of the DAVIS School, in La Grange, N.C. It was a Military Boarding School in the late 1800's. Col. A. C. DAVID, was Superintendant. The picture I have was printed on stationary, by an unknown male child of the DAWSON family of Institute; where he attended school in May of 1888. The letter i have is unsigned. It is written to his mother, and he speaks of commencement, and his mother coming and bringing his brother Jack and sister (not named).
LCC has a newspaper article with a larger picture of the school and information about it. But the buildings are not named as in this picture. They are numbered at LCC, so you might get a better idea of which ones they are by their picture. |
